In 1955 there were many changes in body design. Most distinguishing mark of the new 1955 Chevrolet bodies is their low slung silhouettes and vertical windshield pillars.
Broad, flat hood and trunk lids are approximately 3 1/2 inches lower than 1954, while the high straight crown of the fenders enhances an impression of quickness.
The new body styles for 1955 gives the cars the appearance of much greater length although wheel bases remained unchanged from 1954. Brand new among the 16 1955 Chevy Belair auto body styles are two door station wagons.
